Randy Kamp, MP, Pitt Meadows - Maple Ridge - Mission discusses Summer jobs for students at the Open House event and on his web site.

Also in attendance was Marc Dalton, MLA, Maple Ridge - Mission.

Full article and photos in the Maple Ridge Times - May 29, 2012

Here are some quotes from our event organizers:

The RCKC open house was an amazing success. Over 200 people came and paddled for free on Whonnock Lake. Every paddle, life jacket, kayak and canoe was out on the water in the afternoon. Our local MP Randy Kamp came and gave a speech about the partnership between the federal government and RCKC in providing two summer jobs for students. Mark Dalton our local MLA also came to the open house and took part by paddling. Mark spent a good two hours talking to our club members.

Sean McBeath organized the whole event and he did a great job! Paddle All participants also came and enjoyed our event. As always, many volunteers from RCKC came and made this event successful. The athletes were great representatives of our club with their friendly assistance to the people who attended. Many participants were very appreciative of this free event being offered to their family.

To all people who helped out at this event, a big thank you is deserved.

Virginia Kuran, Program Coordinator, RCKC

I just wanted to get in touch with everyone who came out to the Open House today and extend a huge ‘Thank You!’. From athlete to parents, everyone did an amazing job and made my day a lot easier. I think it’s safe to say the day was a success, with over 200 paddling participants, and it definitely could not have been done without all you volunteers! So again, thank you!

Sean McBeath, Coach, RCKC
