Membership Information

Membership is for everyone. Young or old, competitive or recreational, with physical disabilities or not, as a single or as a team, as an individual or as a family.

Membership at RCKC is also recognized provincially, nationally, and internationally. When competing in the regattas, the results are recognized by official racing organizations. If the level of the athlete is high enough, they can go to try out for the Olympics. Since the coaches are certified, the members will be assured that they are trained proper paddling techniques, and that the training is high quality calibre. It is an ideal place to meet other athletes interested in the paddling sport.

How To Join

After discussing with the Program Coordinator which program you or your child will be taking, some forms will need to be filled out.

  1. RCKC Membership Form (pdf) - for registering into a program.
  2. Personal Health Form (pdf) - in case of a medical emergency, or you or your child have a medical condition the coach needs to be aware of.
  3. RCKC Code Of Conduct (pdf) - for understanding what is accepted behaviour for members.
  4. CKBC Insurance Form (pdf) - WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY against CanoeKayak BC and related parties.

The cheque to pay for the registration fees would be made out to RCKC or Ridge Canoe And Kayak Club. The forms and payment should be submitted to the Treasurer or the coach.

Costs For Joining

The registration fees includes training, attending regattas locally, and insurance. The cost for joining as a member is much lower than the combined costs of a fitness club, swimming pool, and kayak and canoe rental. Memberships are for six months. Spring and Summer (Apr 1 to Sep 30) and Fall and Winter (Oct 1 to Mar 31).
