CanoeKayak Canada Announces Junior And U23 Worlds Athletes

Three of our RCKC high performance athletes made it to the Canadian teams for the Junior World Championships Team Nominations, Olympic Hopes, and the Canada Cup Tour. As the only ones from British Columbia, they were all coached by Peter Majewski.

The athletes who participated in the Canoe Kayak Canada Team Trials #2 in Montreal, were selected for the teams. Also listed here are their qualifications for the Western Canada Games. They are as follows:

Alex Brent – Junior National Team (Junior World Championships in Portugal in July), Team BC (Western Canada Games in Wood Buffalo, Alberta in early August)

Matthew Koehler – Canada Cup Tour Team (Ottawa, Regina, and Dartmouth during early July), Olympic Hopes Regatta in Poland in September, Team BC (Western Canada Games in Wood Buffalo, Alberta in early August)

Justin Won – Canada Cup Tour team (also in Ottawa, Regina, and Dartmouth during early July), Team BC (Western Canada Games in Wood Buffalo, Alberta in early August)

Sebastian Sorescu – Team BC (Western Canada Games in Wood Buffalo, Alberta in early August)

Brian Malfesi – World Cup Tour in Europe (Montemor-O-Velho, Portugal, Duisburg, Germany, Copenhagen, Denmark) in May, Canadian Senior National Team (2015 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Milan, Italy in August)
